Hi! My name is Elizna and welcome to the first Wellness post on The Dolly Diaries! Today I am going to share a bit of my story about an issue that so many women struggle with in silence, but rarely ever talk about: Irritable Bowel Syndrome
I have suffered from Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) all my life, and as I grew older, the symptoms only worsened – it came to a point where it became unbearable. Often when leaving the cinema, I would have to unbutton my jeans, not knowing whether it was from the popcorn, or perhaps the pizza, that I ate… I was never sure what caused my stomach to swell up and cause pain so intense that I wanted to curl up in a ball and cry for the rest of the evening!
It took me many years to figure out how to manage my IBS. But now, I can proudly say that for the last 2 years I can count on my fingers the amount of times that I have been bloated or in pain. I have finally found a routine that works for me!
In my next post I will share my routine to my happy tummy. I am hoping that some of my tips and tricks will help someone else with the same issue.
